True silence has nothing to do with sound or its absence. One who internally never says anything is so could be said to be always in silence, even whilst speaking and engaging with life fully. However for one whom everything means something and has something to say about everything, they may not speak for a year and live alone far from where life takes place, but in truth they have not enjoyed a moments silence, nor understood it.

Taken from the essay, Silence

Words and language have always held a fascination for me, be they measured and weighted as more often in prose, or abstract, more akin to poetry. Some writers in a way leave footprints pointing toward regions internal that they may have explored, and it has always been these writers to which I have always found my gratitude pointed, be they visionaries like William Blake or internal explorers like Aldous Huxley.

The reason I have included a words section within this site is that I feel there are three aspects which can be included within the sincere approach to truly understand any subject. At first we must ensure the environment is helpful and optimum, for this we have the practices such as yoga asana etc, then there are words and language, which can point to the understanding, and finally there is silence, for it is always in the quiet of a self beyond concept and language in which realisation takes place.

I occasionally write on subjects related to yoga and such like, if this is something that would be of interest to you please write with your email address and I will happily include you when they are mailed.
